Columbus Humane is pleased to share the Board of Trustees and Executive Search Committee have appointed Carol Spychalski as our next Chief Executive Officer. Carol will begin her role on April 27, 2026.
Carol brings more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, with deep expertise in philanthropy, strategic planning, financial stewardship, and cross-functional organizational leadership. She most recently served as Vice President of Philanthropy at the San Diego Humane. During her tenure, she helped lead major philanthropy programs, generating multimillion-dollar fundraising campaigns.

Carol and her husband have previously lived in Ohio and are excited to return to be closer to family and invest her leadership in advancing animal welfare in our region. We look forward to introducing Carol to our community soon and to the exciting opportunities ahead under her leadership.
