We are honored to partner extensively with the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine to offer a shelter medicine rotation for every fourth-year veterinary medicine student. This program was among the first in the country to require a two-week rotation, which is consistently rated the top rotation by students.

Each student receives hands-on experience by participating in spay and neuter surgeries and other procedures. We are fortunate to have two veterinarians from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine on-site to oversee the work of the students and work hand-in-hand with Columbus Humane veterinary staff.

We are very proud of this unique and powerful partnership between the Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine.

Our students, the veterinarians of tomorrow, are receiving life-and career-changing experiences by working with animals in a shelter environment. It is consistent voted as the favorite rotation by fourth-year students! It is definitely a win-win opportunity for our organizations and for the animals and students.
