Meet Madeline! She's a pretty calico with the classic tri-color patched tabby looks, but with a nice twist - her black and orange colors are often blended like a tortoiseshell kitty, lovely! She is sweet and friendly, but is often shy in a noisy shelter environment, so approach her gently and show her lots of love. She might prefer to hang out in the back of her cage and be reluctant to come out at times, but she is quite approachable and welcome to petting and one-on-one attention. She will purr (a lot!), nuzzle you, roll over, and "make biscuits" during petting sessions. She's usually quiet, but once she's familiar with you, she can get meowy for attention. She can be a "social eater" who chows down during petting and play time, so just roll with the flow and enjoy her company. Quiet environments are needed for her. She's usually more laid-back, but does show toy interest when she's relaxed - wand toys, feathers, and catnip will get her attention. She also likes (and needs) lots of good scratching materials like scratching posts, horizontal scratch pads, both soft and rough throw rugs, and "cat trees" to climb. Madeline arrived here as a stray, and now she's more than happy to trade living on the streets (or hanging out in a shelter cage) for a warm, loving fur-ever home where she can relax in comfort with her pet humans. Madeline looks forward to meeting you.
